I'm a big fan of unfiltered voices. Often we in the media will be debating this or that issue, without speaking much, if at all, to the folks who are actually living the issue. So I was glad to see Kevin Powell do this video. Please watch.

Great video, but some observations....these children are suffering from a lack of parenting, mentoring. They are segregating themselves, victimizing themselves. A couple have good parenting, you can hear it in their remarks. They have been taught personal responsibility, which has no color barrier. Too many are no longer taught conflict resolution in school or home. They take it to the streets. How many have grown up never knowing a white person? Everything is a battle to them. They are not being taught how to achieve. They know this. And they are also not being taught about how to handle their anger, that violence is not ok. That lack of knowledge is what is killing our children. Good video. Leave a Reply. |
